Commercial & industrial
Commercial solar for Fiji & the Pacific
Pacific Sun Solar is a Fiji-based solar company that develops, builds and connects commercial solar across Fiji and the Pacific. Through our financing partner EOGC, we deliver business solar with $0 upfront cost via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Right-sized for your building
Power you use on site is worth up to 42.95c/kWh, while surplus exported to EFL earns only a ~FJ$0.15/kWh feed-in — so sizing matters. On commercial projects we install on-site data loggers to capture your building's real load profile, then size the solar and batteries to maximise self-consumption and minimise low-value export. The design is built on measured data, not guesswork.
Who it's for
Commercial and industrial building owners, resorts, and larger developments with consistent energy demand — typically ~200 kWp to 2 MWp+.

A solar PPA with $0 upfront cost
A power purchase agreement lets your business host a solar (and optional battery) system and pay only for the electricity it generates — at a fixed rate below your current grid tariff. No capital cost, no loan, and nothing on your balance sheet. The system is financed, owned and maintained for you.
How it works — the Pacific Sun Solar + EOGC partnership
| Role | Who | What they do |
|---|---|---|
| Design & build (EPC) | Pacific Sun Solar | Site assessment, system design, engineering, installation to AS/NZS standards, EFL grid connection, and ongoing service & maintenance. |
| Finance & ownership | EOGC (financing partner) | Funds 100% of the system, owns the asset for the PPA term, and structures the long-term agreement. |
| Energy host / buyer | Your business | Hosts the system and buys the electricity it produces at the agreed PPA rate — lower than your current bill. |
The benefits for commercial building owners
Zero upfront investment
No capital expenditure and no debt — your capital stays in your core business.
Lower costs from day one
You pay less per kWh than you do for grid or diesel power today.
Predictable, long-term pricing
Protection from rising EFL tariffs and volatile fuel costs.
Reliability & power quality
Especially valuable where grid or diesel supply is unstable.
Fully managed
Design, build, monitoring and maintenance are all handled for you.
Sustainability
Cut carbon and meet ESG goals without diverting capital.
Is your building a good fit?
| Criterion | What we look for |
|---|---|
| System size | ~200 kWp to 2 MWp+ |
| Energy profile | High electricity tariffs, diesel generation, or an unstable grid |
| Asset type | Commercial / industrial facilities, resorts, and large developments with consistent demand |
| Roof / land | Suitable roof space or ground area on a structurally sound building |
| Tenure | Sufficient remaining ownership or lease to match the PPA term |

The business case
Why commercial solar makes sense in Fiji
High grid electricity price
EFL rates of up to 42.95c per kWh mean every solar-generated unit delivers significant savings.
Accelerated depreciation
100% accelerated depreciation on solar assets.
R&D tax benefit
250% tax benefit available on qualifying research & development.
Short payback
High offset against expensive grid power leads to a short repayment timeframe.
Net metering & feed-in — how your energy is valued
Every unit you use on site offsets grid power at up to 42.95c/kWh, while surplus exported to EFL earns only a ~FJ$0.15/kWh feed-in — so self-consumed solar is worth nearly 2.9× more than exported solar. Battery storage shifts daytime solar into the evening so you keep using your own power instead of exporting it cheaply.

Standards & compliance
Grid, feed-in and tax figures are estimates based on current EFL rates and Fiji regulations (2025–2026) and are subject to change — confirm current figures and speak to your tax adviser.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to install?
$0. EOGC finances and owns the system. You pay only for the power it produces.
How do I save money?
You buy electricity at a fixed PPA rate set below your current grid or diesel cost, so your energy bill drops from day one.
Who owns the system?
EOGC owns the system for the term of the PPA. Pacific Sun Solar designs, builds and maintains it.
Will it work with my existing grid or diesel supply?
Yes. The solar + storage system runs alongside your existing grid or generator, reducing fuel consumption and improving reliability.
How long is the agreement?
A long-term agreement offering discounted electricity for up to 25 years. The exact term is confirmed per project.
